Introduction

Education is the path of knowledge. It is foundation of nation building. Education model leads to development model of the nation. Library helps the reader directly or indirectly to get the education at School , College, University or Society level.

Location

We have also a good library location at ground floor in college building. Area of main Library is 300 sq. feet , Reading Room 500 sq. feet. It has issue- return section, periodical section, reading room section and administration section.

Library Committee

The library has library committee of ten members. The Principal is chairperson (ex-officio) and the Librarian is secretary (ex-officio) and all staff members are committee members.

The library committee meets once in a year to discuss on following points.

  1. Purchase of new books.
  2. Take action on outstanding books with staff and students.
  3. Plan for Library activities in current year.

Any other matter with the permission of the chairman.

Reading Material

  • Books :- Library has 20,000  plus books as per accession register. Which contain 10,000 plus text books, 8,000 plus general books and 1500 plus reference books.

 

  • Text Books :- These books are useful to F.Y.,S.Y. & T.Y. B.A. and B.Com. students for preparation for their exams

 

  • General Books :- General books contain more detailed information than text books. Theyprovide basic and advance information on any subject.

 

  • Reference Books :- reference books are used only for reference. If we want meaning of particular word, we go to dictionary, find the word and get the meaning. We need not read whole book from start to end. This is called ref.book.

 

  • Periodicals :- A reading material which is published with a short interval is called periodicals. Magazine and Journal are two types of periodicals. Magazine contains all subjects and journals deal with a specific subject.In out Library we have 36 journals and 12 magazines.

 

  • Back Issue Volume :- After the year compiled we get bound the issues of that volume together for reference in future. We keep 3 years Back issue volumes in library.

 

  • Reading Room :- Library has huge seating capacity in library. At a time more than 100 readers can be accommodated in reading room.

 

  • E-source :- Library provides 3 computers with internet connection to students absolutely free. Student can download the information from net , get printed or share to other device.

 

  • Orientation programme:- Library make arrangement of O.P. in the beginning of every year for new students. They are informed about Library facility and rules so they can enjoy the library services.

 

  • Book Exhibition :- Library organizes book exhibition every year. Students come to know the strength of reading material physically available in library.

 

  • Book Bank Scheme :- This is a wonderful scheme run by Library. Students submit fully filled prescribed form. After scrutinee some students get a set of text-books to use for whole year without any  extra deposit. Financially poor students mostly get benefited of this scheme.

 

  • Visitors Services :- Library also provides services to outsiders called visitor. Book lovers, writers, readers from society take benefit of this service. No fees is charged for this.

 

  • Readers’ Club :- Last but not the least, the library has formed Readers’ club to fill the reading habits in the students mind and to make them aware of books, Library, Library Activities and Library services.
